Blue October
Blue October, the awesome band that has some good songs and some bad songs, is coming to San Francisco, and my brother went to their concert and said it was one of the best he’s ever been to. Just emotionally intense all the way.
However, I realized I need to expand my friend/social life. I don’t have anyone really to go with, who would want to go. It would be great to have a friend who I could call up who would want to go, who would be just as excited about it as me. Oh well. Add that to the to-do list.

RYC: Out of all the comments I received, I had to come and respond to yours. Yours is exactly the comment I was hoping to get: One that misses the point entirely.
The purpose isn’t to call every person in America racist; because I didn’t. I’m calling every person who makes Obama’s race a major issue, racist. What I want is for people to pull their heads out of their asses and realise that just because a mixed-race president is in existence does not mean racism is dead. It’s a step towards equality, but as long as we scream and piss ourselves into frenzied comas over it, we’ll always acknowledge the archaic racism inherent in our country.
So take the message as offensive; but guess what? I’m not racist either

Thanks for the comment; screaming oneself into a frenzied coma about it isn’t racism, archaic or otherwise. It’s cute. It’s nice, it’s friendly. It’s people feeling glad that things have changed, and if that’s the worst that’s out there, then I feel safe saying racism is dead.
@phantomFive - To say it’s dead is completely wrong. I’m sorry, but racism still exists. Making a huge deal out of his race–rather than his character or his platform–is actually racism. His race means nothing other than what ethnicity(ies) he’s comprised of. That does not dictate what his platform is, or who he’ll support, or what his ethical code is/will be.
Race is nothing more than where you/your parents were born. To make it an important fact is to admit to being a racist.
@Schristian -
Well I’m sorry you see it in such a bad light. The fact is, there has been a huge change in America in the past 40 years, and it’s a good change, and a lot of people are happy about it. Obviously there is still racism in the USA, the KKK is one of the most hateful organizations in existence.
What Obama’s election is symbolic of, though, is that any person can achieve whatever they want in the US, regardless of race, and that is something great. Is there still poverty? Yes. Is there more poverty among certain ethnic groups? Yes. But race is not a limiting factor anymore.
I’m not a big concert person. Sorry. I’ve been to a really bad one, and a really good one, but I find it hard to justify the amt of money I have to pay to go ><
@NightPrancer -
Then, dear lovely, it wasn’t a very good concert, was it?
@phantomFive -
I suppose it wasn’t. Although I must profess that since I have never been to a good one, I don’t know what to look out for. LoL.
