World Peace is Easy
Peace is an unusually simple problem: it’s entirely a marketing problem. We don’t even have to get people to buy anything, all we have to do is get them to want it. The marketing is the whole problem. Once everyone wants it, then the problem is solved because no one will fight anymore. It really is that easy.
In talking to people, I have observed three broad ‘market segments’ that need to be addressed, three types of people. Maybe there are more, but this is what I have found so far:
1) Those who think that humans are violent by nature, and thus war is inevitable. These are believers in the ‘killer ape’ theory or perhaps they’ve just seen too much violence in their lives. Fortunately men are not violent by nature, the ‘killer ape’ theory is discredited, and in any case we are capable of choosing our destinies.
2) The second group are those who would stop fighting, but the ‘other guys’ won’t stop. These are most Americans. They didn’t want to attack Afghanistan originally, but the Afghanis struck first, so what choice was there? These people happily would support peace if they saw it as a viable possibility. Fortunately, peace is viable because it is the most profitable solution, we just need to help the world see that. The more people start supporting peace, the more this group will become convinced that peace is possible.
3) The third group is the most difficult group, because they actually have something to gain from war. In this category was Slobodan Milošević, who wanted to consolidate power in his country, or warriors on the edge of the Sahara who want to take others’ land for their own cattle. Some people fight because it is exciting, they like the thrill. These people need to see that there is a better way, and that their children will want to live in peace, and sometimes compromise is worth it. Anyone who has loved has learned the value of compromise. These people can too.
Try to talk to everyone you can about world peace, because word of mouth is the best type of marketing. Also, check out the movie.

Peace is not the absence of voice.
Peace is not the absence of conflicts.
Peace is not the absence of wars.
Peace is the absence of living.

lol what? No, peace is the absence of wars. We can still have conflict and disagreements, but not kill each other over them. For example, over the past year, the US has had two trade disagreements with China, and we resolved it without going to war.
@phantomFive - Just a personal viewpoints. Peace is easy but there are lot of things against the peacefulness of the world.
Hey, if you want to be pictured in my blog on xanga dudes come look at the categories and see if you fit into any of them. If so, I’ll put you up. It’s a fun blog for lots, so you might enjoy! http://and-i-love.xanga.com/724904418/ed-the-dudes-of-xanga-ill-finish-this/
Thanks for playing! Cute answer.

Sounds fun! You can put me in the probably criminals category
Sometimes I do feel like people are violent for absolutely no reason. I’m reminded of books like Hearts in Atlantis and Lord of the Flies…. Some violence is so incomprehensible that it seems like humans naturally resort to it when they can get away with it or when they are separated from the values of society.
I would like to be more positive about humans…

Take heart, in most situations where there are disasters, or famines or whatever, most people band together and help each other. A few don’t, but the vast majority do. Even soldiers in war have trouble killing each other. It only becomes easy to kill when you demonize the others, make them ‘different’ somehow. So there is a lot of reason for hope.
thank you.

There, I made a new entry just for you.
Peace is possible only as no person wants something so badly, wants to keep something that another wants to take, or believes an idea that is opposed by another, strongly enough to fight to keep their property or enforce their right to openly express their beliefs. It is not so simple, really. When you are being attacked, it is natural, and good, to fight back.
Peace sells, but who’s buying? – Megadeth
The answer is no one. As long as humans continue to place personal comfort and convenience above the well being of their fellow men, there will never be peace. Unfortunately, mankind doesn’t settle it’s differences with sticks and rocks any more.
Man may not be violent or murderous 100% of the time, but every man is capable of feeling and acting upon murderous rage under the right circumstances. Wars and fighting derive their origins in the desires of men’s hearts.
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:1-4)
Here’s the plan for peace: Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:36-40)
@AOK4WAY -
Do you want peace? In other words, are you buying?
@phantomFive - I don’t believe that peace is something that can be marketed, or sold, or bought. It can’t be “gotten” in any way at all, bro. I believe that peace, like love, can only be given, never taken. Peace to you
@AOK4WAY -
come on man, you’re avoiding the question. Do you want peace or not?
Judge by my actions, friend! Peace can only be created by giving it. There’s always a potential for conflict between people and nations. Peace is something we must choose to give in those situations, not something we can go and get. Peace
World peace is easy. We have world peace right now because superpowers aren’t fighting each other. There isn’t chaos everywhere. We’re in a quiet phase.
It’s impossible not to have war because we dominate our containers. One on top of one on top of one on top of one. In order to get food, water, shelter we have to fight the elements. People all grow up at different times and roles have to filled. We have to establish who does what and people have different reactions to control their world because everyone is trying to control their little reality. Disputes are only natural, and it gets bloody sometimes because one personality hue cannot exist alongside the other. One will not survive with the other present. And the strongest argument will always win. It just depends on what the strongest will is and what it will translate into. Like dinosaurs, you can fight for the strongest, and if that suits your reality, then the biggest, stupidest creature will win and all personalities will represent this hue in the human world.
I am violent by nature because I spent years being down and off. The only way to sitmulate my brain, reward it, was through violence or things of that nature — though I don’t do much, and I restrict to aggression sometimes in self-defense but people don’t see it that way because I’m not allowed anything “good” and everything is a trap. In a perfect world, they would identify people like me with a simple brain scan and change their conditions or they would alter states, but they should be careful because my state is a reaction. While perception will get you decently far, it won’t win against solid states. Eventually, whatever hue I change into will hit another hue, and then somebody else will be aggressive in my place, and due to time and other things, they will cause even more people to change until all the personality hues are different and not controlled, and we get a new dimension.
To me, the ideal land of happy is bad, and I’ll fight it, and this destroys harmony, but if I am of it, then it depends on me to be happy and has to deal with conflict if it incites me, a little war. If I win, then people will be less happy and more content and paranoid. All the people who were gay happy will look stupid instead of having good short term memories due to conditions, and they’ll become sad or happy in an off way because nobody else is like them. They’ll be delusional in the new dimension.
We go on and on and on into eternity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zHg4T-ippA
