One of the hardest realities to deal with in life…
….is the fact that essentially everyone you will meet does not care much about you, except as you relate to or otherwise improve their life.
Personally, I think the greatest part of religion is that it teaches us to not be so self centered and to care about other people. Any religion that doesn’t do this is failing in a serious way.

I agree.
That’s one of the cool thing about family too.
Sometimes I wonder to myself what I owe them/why I care so much; but then I realize that even without a reason I can’t bring myself not to care. Granted they didn’t do anything hurtful of course.
Wow.. what got you thinking about that?
I always have trouble with self-centered people, even the concept. Everyone should care about themselves obviously, its part of survival. But so much of the world will steal or kill, cheat or lie to stay ahead.
No one ever calls to ask how you are doing; they really want to talk about themselves…no one wants to hear how you REALLY are, what REALLY is wrong, they are too self-absorbed to take in anything but a “fine” or “good” or “okay”.

Yeah. I found it is easier to accept it and overcome it. Then like a cold wind on your face it is neither painful nor scary, just a sensation.

Oh, it’s something I’ve been dealing with for the last few years. I was thinking about it, and realized it is something that doesn’t really bother me any more. I have mostly dealt with it.
People are too full of themselves to care about others. Religions supposed to the right path to teach us to love one another and to respect one another, sadly some people dishonorably use religion for their personal gains.
“A man is not a believer whose neighbour sleeps hungry while he sleeps full.”
You are so right.
