  • Police non-Brutality? Fight outside my house!

People talk a lot about police brutality lately, which is kind of ironic: tonight there was a fight outside my apartment, and the police came. I knew one of the guys in the fight, so I watched from my window to make sure nothing bad happened to him.

It was actually not bad at all, they settled down the fight, they had the guys sit down on the curb, away from each other, then on at a time, they handcuffed them and put them in the car. There was one old man there, and they talked gently and quietly to him, calming him down. Then they helped him get in the car. They put the ones who were fighting into different cars. They actually treated my friend kindly, I think, and were not brutal or rude.

I guess it shows that although sometimes the police are brutal and rude, sometimes they are kind and gentle and do their job well. At least in San Mateo.
